32 Weeks!

Emily, here is a picture just for you since you commented on my long lost blog and you have been wanting to see what I look like! This is my baby bump last week. You will just have to excuse that the picture is in the bathroom! I don't have any other convenient mirror to take a picture of myself in:) Just a few more weeks and she will be here! It is a little hard for me to believe, but when I feel the hard whacks inside me, I know she is alive and growing!

Yummy Bread!

This is recipe is really good. I got it out of a Taste of home magazine.

Garlic-Herb Braid

4 to 41/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 pkg.(1/4 oz. each)
quick-rise yeast
2 tsp. dried basil
1-3/4 tsp. dill weed
1-1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 tsp. dried rosemary, crushed
3/4 cup 2% milk
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 egg
1 Tbsp. butter, melted

  • In a large bowl, combine 1-1/2 cups flour, sugar, yeast, and seasonings. In a small saucepan, heat the milk water and cubed butter to 120-130 degrees. Add to dry ingredients; beat just until moistened. Add egg; beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • Turn onto a floured surface; kneed until smooth and elastic, about 4-6 minutes. Cover and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide dough into thirds. Shape each into a 15-in. rope. Pace ropes on a greased baking sheet and braid; pinch ends to seal and tuck under. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 25 minutes.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.Brush with melted butter. remove from pan to a wire rack to cool.
Yield: 1 loaf (16 slices)

Spring?

So you think spring is supposed to be here? Well it hasn't sprung in Missouri yet. It has been so nice and warm and yesterday it was almost hot. But the weather decided to spring a winter storm on us. I am glad we have not planted a garden yet! Here are a couple of pictures I took today.

I had to knock ice off of my cart at Wal-Mart today and the cart was inside! I thought it was a little strange!

Hear ye, hear ye! A New Blog Post!

Ok, ok! Yes I know that we have not blogged for months. Well I don't have that many excuses except, in January our nephew Micah was born (so we had to take over alot of the kids ministry), in February we went to Bus convention, in May we made a flying trip to South Dakota for a friends wedding, at the end of June-July we went to my Parents in NJ for a week (while there had a 30th Anniversary party for my parents), we had three different VBS's this summer, and now my hubby is working all day and some nights too! Ok-you can take a deep breath now. My excuses are all over! Here are just a few pictures of our trip to Massachusetts, where we went with my family when we were back there this summer. The interesting places we visited were Boston, Concord, and Plymoth.

Please enjoy 'cause there's no promises for any future blog posts!

First post in six months!

This is the first post in six months.  Our lack of blogging has not been for lack of activity or creativity, but simply because we failed to blog.  For this I feel remorse, but I cannot promise to do any better in the future.  I could give you some sort of pledge for future posting, but I don't think it would help.  So....just take what you can get.

All that being said, I have a video to share.

It is not entertaining.  If you want to be amused, read my first paragraph again and move on to another blog.

It will make you think.  Watch it all the way through.  It's only 4:23 long.

I've been reading The Bravehearted Gospel by Eric Ludy and being challenged to a deeper level of life for my King.  I recommend the book or website:  http://www.braveheartedgospel.com

Please comment.
